Community Tap North Main takes home 2026 Flushie from Off The Grid Greenville SC

The 2026 Flushies, Off The Grid Greenville, SC’s Bathroom Superlative Awards

The 2026 Flushies: Greenville SC’s Bathroom Superlative Awards

You feel it. The urge. Primal, undeniable.

You duck into the nearest door, bracing for fluorescent lights and a broken hand dryer.

Instead: a disco ball spins overhead. The walls are a gallery. A sign somewhere dares you to laugh. The floor is doing something bold.
And in the corner—is that a Toto throne?

The dopamine overload makes us giddy and we start to wonder: is there someone out there who recognizes GREAT restrooms?

We’re here to say, yes.

Since 2017, Off The Grid Greenville has been scouring Greenville, SC, searching—purely for research, of course—for restrooms with personality. The ones where somebody clearly cared. The ones that make you stop mid-break and look around.

That’s Flushie-worthy.

TEAM OTGG, our scouts, and YOU tell us about them. Every tip, every discovery, every “you HAVE to see this bathroom” helps build the list.

We crown the best with ridiculous superlatives, serious bragging rights, and a very real custom gold Flushie trophy.

The 2026 winners have been chosen.

Now those golden trophies are finding their thrones across the Upstate.

You never know where the next one is hiding.

BEST EUROPEAN ESCAPE — NO PASSPORT REQUIRED

Location: Camino Wine Merchant, Greenville, SC
Designer: Sarah Allee Walsh

A loo as refreshing as the knowledgeable, female-owned wine shop it belongs to.

Camino went all in on the European fantasy, with Spanish charm, Moroccan touches, a sink and mirror sourced straight from Morocco, and shell wallpaper nodding to the Camino de Santiago.

And then there’s the Toto bidet.

Because apparently a trip to Europe should include excellent wine and a technologically advanced toilet.

The whole room proves a small space can transport you somewhere completely different.

Clean, charming, and just fancy enough to make you wonder why your own bathroom doesn’t have a bidet.

Let’s Hear it for the Dogs 🐾

Location: Swampy Dog
Designer: Leslie Jones
Muralist: “V” Victoria Parizo @shes.v.creative

Ever feel like someone’s watching you?
At Swampy Dog, that’s kinda the point.

This isn’t just a restroom—it’s a playful, dog-themed world built on peel-and-stick flair, bold murals, and the very real sense that the dogs are paying attention.

At the urinals: concerned dog eyes that suggest they’ve seen your entire browsing history.

At seat level: “tell your dog I said hi,” which is either a greeting or a formal diplomatic channel.

A mural says “whatever whenever,” because apparently that’s the official Swampy Dog policy.

It’s weird, playful, and fully committed to the bit.

And that’s really what this space represents: making people smile. Mission accomplished.

Bonus: these restrooms are open to the public—so you don’t even need an excuse to stop in and experience it for yourself.

Most Likely To Have A Baby on the Job

Location: Third Place Coffee
Designer: Celine Griffin + Maddie Cohn / Maddie Ivy Art

When Celine Griffin was six months pregnant, she enlisted her best friend, artist Maddie Cohn, to help transform the space. Together—with a two-month-old baby in tow—they spent countless hours painting every detail by hand.

Yes, a baby.

There were conversations on ladders. A friendship got stronger. And somehow, a tiny baby footprint ended up beneath the sink, where it will stay forever.

Long before it became a coffee shop bathroom, this space belonged to generations of children making art.

Apparently, some things refuse to grow up.

And maybe that’s the real lesson here: the best creative projects aren’t always about what you make. They’re about who you make them with and what you remember afterward.

“We talked about everything under the sun. At the end of it, it felt like a second home within Third Place—sometimes I just want to go in there and drink my coffee.” — Celine Griffin

BEST BATHROOM FUN HOUSE

Location: Community Tap, North Main
Designer: Bunny Bishop

Did we enter Community Tap’s undiscovered “Fun House,” or are we having an acid trip?

Equipped with all the necessities of parenthood, this creative masterpiece has Bunny’s “paws” written all over it. You can see the handiwork of seven-year Community Tap veteran Bunny Bishop in every brushstroke—and her unbridled love for color, line, and, most of all, the joyous act of letting paint glide across a wall.

Bunny didn’t just decorate a restroom. She created a tiny world where creativity runs wild, rules are optional, and the elements of art are clearly having the time of their lives.

Which is pretty much the point: make something joyful, make it your own, and don’t be afraid to have a little fun with it.

Bunny, we have questions.

But mostly… will you be our friend? The world needs more of your purtastic, creativity. Thank you.

MOST STYLISH

Location: LiLi & KoKo, Bridgeway Station, Mauldin, SC
Designer: Lisa Suter, with a little help from friends

Some places want you to shop.

At LiLi & KoKo, they want you to shop, sip, dine, and stay awhile. Apparently, the bathroom is part of the experience, too.

Lisa designed two completely different restrooms, sitting side by side. The Pink Powder Room is all pink peonies, soft florals, and feminine charm.

Next door? The Leopard Lounge.

Same boutique. Completely different attitude. And yes, leopard is still a neutral.

Two restrooms, two personalities, one very LiLi & KoKo experience.

MOST ON BRAND

Location: Emily’s Pantry
Designer: Material Design Co., Ario Studios & Dovetail Construction
Inspired by: Emily Fournier

Part jewel box, part neighborhood bodega, Emily’s Pantry delivers a restroom that feels like stepping inside a human-sized trinket box.

The patterns play together so beautifully, it’s hard to believe every little detail didn’t come as a set.

More friend’s home than public restroom—and, in true neighborhood spirit, open to anyone who asks.

A tiny room. A lot of personality. Very Emily’s Pantry.

MOST GRUESOME PARTY — BACK BY UNPOPULAR DEMAND

Location: Greenville Army Store, Greenville, SC
Designer: Jeff Zaglin, Owner

Because tradition is tradition, the Greenville Army Store continues to reign as the real strange over on Laurens Road.

and then there’s the crab…

Somewhere in the middle of it all is a plastic crab who has been hanging on for dear life since the store’s original downtown Greenville location.

He’s made the move. He’s seen things. He’s still here.

Honestly, at this point, we’re rooting for him.

THE PEOPLE’S FLUSH

Some restrooms deserve a shout-out.

Beaten Path Co.
A restroom where old sports magazines get a second life, collaged across the walls in a way that feels equal parts nostalgic, scrappy, and very Beaten Path.

CHOP Barbershop (pictured below)
A guest-only restroom with a funky vintage barbershop nostalgia, Irish pub vibes, and thrifted details that make it feel like a natural extension of the shop.

Knotty N Natural (image provided below)
A memorable space that caught our attention with those hysterical prints.

Mellow Hair Co.
Another standout in orange –  deserves a little Flushie love.

Abyss
A downtown seafood spot that clearly understands that the experience doesn’t stop at the dining room.

Hone GVL
A West Greenville spot that knows how to make the details count.

Scout’s Donuts
A cute little love letter to the bathroom, with a wall covered in XOXOXOXOXO.
