The 2025 Flushies, Off The Grid Greenville’s Bathroom Superlative Awards
The Flushies: Celebrating the Unexpected in Greenville
You know the moment.
You’re out exploring — grabbing coffee, checking out a new spot, maybe catching up with a friend — and then, boom. You walk into a restroom that actually makes you stop.
It’s clean. It’s clever. Maybe there’s art on the walls or a sign that makes you laugh.
It’s Flushie-worthy.
We started the Flushies because we believe the details matter — and around here, even the bathrooms tell a story. It’s not just about function. A thoughtfully designed restroom is an extension of the entire experience. Whether it’s a surprise disco ball, local art, or just good lighting and a clean layout, it shows someone cared about getting every detail right.
The Flushies are our way of tipping the hat to those unexpected, smile-worthy spaces.
They remind us that in Greenville, the magic often hides in the places you’d least expect.
So here’s to the quiet joys, the small surprises, and the restrooms that go above and beyond.
Because around here, we celebrate what’s off the grid – and that includes the loos.
MOST FOLIAGE-FILLED
Location: Sun and Soil Plant Parlor, Greenville, SC
Artist: Leyly Bagherof
Owner, Leyly, designed the bathroom with one mission: to make it the most fun, foliage-filled bathroom in town. It’s a little jungle escape—with a cactus-handled plunger, leafy toilet brush, and our personal favorite: the potty prize machine. Pop in a quarter and you might win a discount, a sticker, or a silly surprise. Has doing your business ever been more rewarding? We don’t think so!

Let’s Hear it for the Dogs 🐾
Location: The Greenville Humane Society
Artist: Matteo Miles
Not one, not two, but three hand-painted stalls.
Love is a… well, you’ll have to see for yourself.
Inspired to bring some of the “…joy and fun of rescue pets into our wall art,” each bathroom wall is adorned with a previous shelter resident.

“This was Rellie, a dog who spent almost an entire year waiting in our shelter for her forever home. Now she is forever immortalized in one of our restrooms, and living her best life with her humans and doggie brother!”

MOST Likely to Be Mistaken for a Rose 🌹
Location: Larkins Restaurants, Greenville, SC
Designer: Larkin Hammond
Step inside this restroom and you’re instantly wrapped in a world of pink petals and pure drama. With bold rose wallpaper, luxe marble floors, and a statement mirror that catches every perfect angle, this space is more than a bathroom—it’s a full-on floral fantasy.
Did we mention that there’s plenty of pink? Barbie would approve.

Larkins’s inspiration was to “…create an oasis and girly room where people feel comfortable and confident, making it a great place to take a selfie!”
MOST “Off the Grid”
Location: Field Trip Glamping
Designer: Huckleberry Interiors
We haven’t given this honor since the Albino Skunk Festival won in 2022.
Congratulations to Field Trip Glamping – because taking a pee outdoors doesn’t have to be against a tree.
We hear you loud and clear with your massive mural point us in the right direction. Conveintly located, the camp store next to the restrooms is stocked with plenty of trinkets and reading material.
Former corporate working moms Sarah Mudder and Kelsey Earle envisioned a camp inspired by “retro girl scout camp,” and we couldn’t be more here for it! As the first official GLAMPground in Greenville County, the founders “wanted to create a space that is a fun backdrop for adventure and memory making.”

Interior

MOST STYLISH
Location: Carmella’s, Greenville, SC
Designer: MB Within Design Group
At Carmella’s, owners Tiffany and Brian Solari teamed up with Mollie Bean of MB Within Design Group to create bathrooms that are as Instagram-worthy as they are functional.
Tiffany, inspired by the trend of stylish, photo-ready restrooms, wanted a clean, modern space that travelers and locals alike would love. The result? A playful mix of easy-to-clean surfaces and fresh design ideas collected from their travel adventures.
Ask the staff about the Charleston location – ’cause Greenville’s got the lou with all the looks! 😉

Most On Brand
Location: Full Plate Crêperie – Eatery – Sweets: Pickens, SC.
Step inside Full Plate Crêperie’s loo and you might swear you’ve been transported to grandma’s powder room — all the charm, none of the awkward family stories.
With vintage finds sweeter than the cakes and repurposed fixtures that have seen better days but sparkle today, this Flushie proves southern hospitality runs deep, even in the smallest corners.
Tucked away inside the cozy Full Circle Vintage Market in Pickens, it’s the perfect pit stop to refresh after a sweet treat or a vintage treasure hunt.

Most Gruesome Party
Location: Greenville Army Store, Greenville, SC
Designer: Jeff Zaglin, Owner
Because tradition is tradition, the Greenville Army Store continues to reign as the real strange over on Laurens Road. Step through the jungle into a beachside oasis that definitely isn’t worth the journey — unless you’re into skeletons, sirens, and surreal scenes you won’t unsee.
P.S. Don’t bother calling for help. No one’s coming.
The “Sit. Stay. Slay.” Award
Location: The Spinx Market & Eatery, Downtown Greenville
Designed: The Spinx Team + name submitted by Cece Henry
Two words: Bathroom. Dog.
Well, technically, one giant dog named Hank — larger-than-life and full of love, just like the real pup who inspired him. After a social media naming contest, Cece Henry’s winning tribute to her late family dog stole the show (and our hearts).

Hank, the original good boy, spent 14 joyful years hiking the Blue Ridge, strutting the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and warming up by the fireplace — and now he’s forever guarding the restrooms in retro teal, rocking sunglasses and sneakers like a four-legged superhero with impeccable style.
It’s playful. It’s personal. It’s paws-itively Flushie-worthy.
(And yes — we’re officially on board with emotional support murals.)

The People’s Flush: You Found It, We Crowned It
Location: The Greenville Spark
Artist: Heather Scott of Bubbly Brushstrokes
Photographer: Brooks Grayson
The Greenville Spark’s throne room sparkles with colorful bursts inspired by its permanent jewelry—and even features the cutest Lego flowers you’ll spot from the stall. This #selfie‑worthy masterpiece proves why skipping wallpaper for custom art is always the right call. Catch it in person at District Midtown… because some bathroom brilliance can’t be captured in a single snap.
The business.
🧻 All year long, TEAM OTGG keeps a top-secret list of restrooms nominated by YOU—our scouts, writers, and photographers.
We visit. We flush. We take notes. (It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.)
🧻🧻 When it’s time to start narrowing things down, we sound the alarm and call for even more nominations from the OTGG community.
Because honestly? Great bathrooms deserve their moment.
🚽🚽🚽 Then, the real work begins.
TEAM OTGG whittles down the contenders to create the official finalist list.
📸 Finalist thrones are notified and scheduled for their close-up, thanks to our photography sponsor, FishEye Studios. (We’re talking professional shoots and a little digital magic.)
🦩🦩🦩 Once the photos are in, TEAM OTGG channels their inner Family Guy and cranks out ridiculous, heartfelt “Best-Of” superlatives—honoring the quirky details, thoughtful touches, and pure bathroom brilliance.
🎉 And then…
THE FLUSHIES ARE ANNOUNCED!!!
Cue the confetti cannons. Maybe a party? Definitely BYOTP. 🧻🧻🧻
🏆🏆🏆 Winners get an epic 3D trophy (yes, for real) to proudly display at their business.
